Abstract:Objective To establish a reverse-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC) method for the determination of ephedrine hydrochloride in Qianbai Biyan tablets.Methods The chromatographic separation was achieved at room temperature on a SHIMADZU-ODS(150 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) column at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1.Mobile phase consisted of methanol,water,triethylamine and phosphonic acid in a 10∶90∶0.1∶0.1 ratio.The detection wavelength was set at 214 nm.Results The ephedrine hydrochloride showed a good linearity in the range of 0.010~0.100 mg·mL-1(r=0.999 9).The average recovery was 99.66% and the RSD was 1.1%.Conclusion The established RP-HPLC is simple,reliable,accurate and reproducible for the determination of ephedrine hydrochloride,and can be used for quality control of Qianbai Biyan tablets.
