Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of 30% hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) thermo-catalytic bleaching combined with sodium perborate(NaBO3) pulp chamber seal in pulpless discolored teeth.Methods Under the protection of pulp chamber barrier,30% H2O2 thermo-catalytic bleaching combined with NaBO3 pulp chamber seal was performed in 110 pulpless discolored teeth.According to discoloration time,there teeth were divided into three groups:group A(3-5 years,n=80),group B(5-10 years,n=20) and group C(10-20 years,n=10).Whitening effect,patient satisfaction and adverse effects were recored.Results Among the 110 teeth,the treatment was markedly effective in 78(70.9%),effective in 28(25.5%) and ineffective in 4(3.6%).The total effective rate was 96.4%.Patient satisfaction was 93.6% and no side effects occurred.The total effective rate was 100.0%,90.0% and 80.0% in group A,group B and group C,respectively.There were significant differences among the three groups(χ2= 13.46,P<0.01).Conclusion Thermo-catalytic bleaching with 30% H2O2 combined with pulp chamber seal with NaBO3 is a safe and effective method for pulpless discolored teeth.
