Abstract:Objective To compare the diagnostic values of three-dimensional endosonography, transabdominal ultrasound and DR intravenous pyelography(IVP) in lower non-opaque ureterolith. Methods Data of 139 cases of clinically proven lower non-opaque ureterolith from February 2009 to August 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Three-dimensional endosonography diagnosis was compared with transabdominal ultrasound and DR IVP.Results The detection rate of ureterolith by three-dimensional endosonography(94.24%) was significantly higher than that by transabdominal ultrasound(77.70%) and DR IVP(49.64%)(P<0.05).Furthermore,three-dimensional endosonography provided more direct information about renal effusion, renal parenchymal thickness, ureteral obstruction and renal function. Conclusion Three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound is superior to transabdominal ultrasound and DR IVP for the diagnosis of lower non-opaque ureterolith.
