Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Chaihu Shugan pills(CSPs) combined with mosapride citrate tablets(MCTs) on functional dyspepsia(FD) due to liver-stomach disharmony. Methods Fifty-eight patients with FD due to liver-stomach disharmony were treated with 5 mg MCTs(control group) or in combination with 6 g CSPs(treatment group) 3 times per day.The course of treatment was 28 days. The 36-item Short-Form health survey(SF-36) was performed before and 56 days after treatment. The clinical effects were assessed at 7,14,28 and 56 days after treatment. Results There was no significant difference between treatment group and control group in the effective rate at 7 and 14 days after treatment(P>0.05).However,symptom improvement rate in treatment group was obviously higher than that in control group at 28 and 56 days after treatment(62.1% and 62.1% vs 34.5% and 31.0%,respectively;P<0.05).The scores for the 7 of 8 SF-36 domains(except physical function) were significantly improved after treatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with control group, treatment group had significant improvement in the general health, vitality, emotional function and mental health(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion Combined treatment with CSPs and MCTs is superior to MCTs for late and long-term efficacy and improvement in life quality in patients with FD due to liver-stomach disharmony.
