Abstract： Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of occlusion treatment for left to right shunt congenital heart disease with color Doppler ultrasound.Methods A total of 127 patients were treated with the Amplatzer septal occluder due to atrial septal defect(ASD,45 patient),ventricular septal defect(VSD,42 patients) or patent ductus arteriosus(PDA,40 patients) between 2004 and 2010.Color Doppler ultrasound and 12-lead ECG were performed preoperatively and 3 days,1 month,3 months and 6 months postoperatively.Results The interventional therapy was successful and significant improvement in heart function(P<0.05 or P<0.01) was obtained in all 127 patients.Cardiac chamber size significantly reduced and right bundle branch block and atrioventricular block obviously disappeared or decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion The occlusion treatment is safe and reliable for left to right shunt congenital heart disease.
