Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) and CD44V6 in ovarian mucinous tumors and the clinical significance. Methods The expression of EGFR and CD44V6 was detected by immunohistochemical PV-9000 2-step method in 20 cases of ovarian cystadenoma,40 cases of ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma and 40 cases of ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinom. The relationship between clinicopathologic characteristics and prognostic significance was analyzed at the same time. Results The positive rates of EGFR expression were 0.0%,37.5% and 67.5% and positive rates of CD44V6 expression were 0.0%,7.5% and 65.0% in ovarian cystadenoma, ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma and ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma, respectively. The expression of EGFR was correlated with tumor size(P<0.05) but not with clinical stage, histological grade and patient age in ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma(P>0.05),and not with clinical stage, tumor size and patient age in ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma(P>0.05).The expression of CD44V6 was correlated with clinical stage, histological grade, tumor size and lymph node metastasis in ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma(P<0.05).Additionally,EGFR expression was positively correlated with CD44V6 expression ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma(r=0.58,P<0.05).Conclusion The EGFR plays a role in neoplasia of ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma.High expression of CD44V6 may be an independent risk factor for prognosis of ovarian mucinous cystadenocarcinoma. 更多
