Abstract: There is a trend of regional transferring of manufacturing from southeast to the midwest.Based on the model of Midelfart-Knarvik,K.,H.Overman,S.Redding,and A.Venables(2000) and using the data of the years of 2000 and 2003 of Guangdong Province, the econometric analysis finds out that nearness to market and economic scale is the most significant determinations of agglomeration and dispersion of manufacturing, while wage is not a significant one, which indicates the proceeding of agglomeration of manufacturing is still accelerating. Then this article gives some advice to peripheral regions which attract investment from the core region.
