Abstract: Huang Zhimo was a private publisher with many achievements in the Qing dynasty from Yihuang County,Jiangxi Province. His Xunmintang Series printed from wooden types consists of no less than one hundred books, thanks to which many valuable documents survive to this day and get quoted convincingly in the current academic circles. The Women’s Poetry of Qing Dynasty, which took Huang Zhimo six years to finish, counts as the largest anthology of women’s poetry in the Qing dynasty. However,Huang Zhimo has aroused little attention in the present academic circles and there have been quite a few omissions and errors in the fragmentary descriptions about his life and his publishing activities.I’d like to provide a chronicle focussing on his publishing activities so that these omissions and errors can be avoided.
