Abstract: The analysis of the basic elements of constructivist learning conception reveals their adaptation to the basis of on-line learning of college English.In the discussion of the specific integration of internet technology with college English instruction,the concepts of Random Access Instruction and collaborative learning are especially suitable for the features of college English learning in the internet time.A theme-based learning model can be designed on the principles of the learning concepts of constructivism to take full advantage of the web resources for the learning and improvement of language skills both in and out of the classroom.In addition,an on-line instructional system should be set up in order to manage and monitor the whole learning process.
