Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between food specific IgG antibody and persistent or chronic diarrhoea, and to provide guidance for treatment of persistent or chronic diarrhea in infants with food intolerance. Methods Food specific IgG antibodies were detected in 105 patients with persistent or chronic diarrhea(observation group) and 30 healthy subjects(control group). Results The positive rate of food-specific IgG in observation group(89.5%,94 patients) was significantly higher than that in control group(13.3%,4 healthy subjects)(P<0.05).Sixty-seven patients and 4 healthy subjects had positive IgG antibodies to only 1 food antigen.Twenty-seven patients and no healthy subjects had positive IgG antibodies to 2 food antigens or more.Positive milk-specific IgG was detected in 88 patients(83.8%) and 3 healthy subjects(10.0%),followed by egg white/yolk.The observation group which specific IgG posti positive results in food grade 2 or more were 90 patients(85.7%)and the control group were 2 cases(6.7%),and all, compared the two groups was statistically school difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Food intolerance is correlated with persistent and chronic diarrhoea in infants. The detection of food specific IgG is important in guiding diet formulation and treatment of persistent and chronic diarrhoea in infants with food intolerance.
