Abstract:Objective To compare the clinic effects of proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA) and dynamic hip screw(DHS) on senile femoral intertrochanteric fractures. Methods Fifty-one elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures were assigned to receive either PFNA(group PFNA,n=21) or DHS(group DHS,n=30) for internal fixation.Operation time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with DHS,PFNA significantly decreased operation time, intraoperative blood loss and incidence of complications [(52±11.90) minutes vs(75±23.40) minutes,(150±50)mL vs(450±60)mL,and 4.76% vs 23.33%,respectively;P<0.05],but obviously increased excellent and good rate(95.24% vs 76.67%,P<0.05).Conclusion The PFNA is superior to DHS for treating senile femoral intertrochanteric fractures.
