Abstract:Objective To compare the two-dimensional gel electrophoresis(2-DE) maps of serum proteins between healthy subjects and hepatitis B patients. Methods Serum proteins were separated by 2-DE and the constructed 2-DE maps were compared between healthy subjects and hepatitis B patients. Results Eight different spots were found through comparing the 2-DE maps between healthy subjects and hepatitis B patient.Compared with healthy subjects,5 up-regulated and 1 down-regulated spots were detected in serum proteins from hepatitis B patients.Moreover,2 new spots were found only in serum samples from hepatitis B patients. Conclusion There were some differences in the 2-DE maps of serum proteins between healthy subjects and hepatitis B patients. These different spots may be a promising new way to screen significative proteins in serum samples in hepatitis B patients.
