Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of shenfu on heat shock protein 70(HSP70) expression in rats with acute lung injury(ALI),and to investigate the mechanism of protective effect of shenfu on endotoxin-induced ALI.Methods The endotoxin was injected into rats via the caudal vein to induce ALI and shenfu was given by intraperitoneal injection.The SD rats were randomly divided into there groups: normal saline group(NS group),endotoxin injection group(ET group) and shenfu treatment group(SF group),with 10 rats in each group.All rats were sacrificed 2 hours after injection of endotoxin or normal saline,the partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),lung coefficient and the score of extent of lung injury were measured,and HSP70 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting.Results Compared with NS group,the score of extent of lung injury,lung coefficient and HSP70 expression significantly increased but PaO2 obviously decreased in ET group(all P<0.05).Compared with ET group,PaO2 and HSP70 expression significantly increased but lung coefficient and the score of extent of lung injury obviously decreased in SF group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Shenfu can alleviate endotoxin-induced ALI and increase HSP70 expression in rat lung tissue.
